Art Reception and Ekphrasis Poetry Reading – 3-6-PM

 I will be writing two poems for this event: 

“Twilight’s Embrace, A Cliffside Awakening”, base on the painting “Sunset at Pacifica” by Allen Mathias, the featured artists for the event.

“Ghana’s Lioness: A Promise Unfolds” is based on the painting “Proud Girl Culture” by Rosalee Regalado

 Twilight’s Embrace, A Cliffside Awakening

Seagulls soar, dolphins dance

Upon a canvas of endless blue, I long to drift

In the cool embrace of those waves.

A beautiful moment unfolds, a sigh of relief

Finally, a taste of freedom

My mind, once cluttered, is now washed clean.

Sky crowned
with smoke, twilight gold bleeding blood orange hues.

Ebony and ivory stripe the heavens

Grey songs whisper and silver melodies shimmer

around a fire’s orange heart.
