I am thrilled to announce that my poem on America and the creeping shadow of fascism, “Papers Please, America’s Reflection,” will be released on November 25th—Black Friday—on Amazon.
This poem was born from a place of urgency—from watching a country wrestle with its own reflection as government shutdowns stretch longer, safety nets fray thinner, and compassion for the needy and the unhoused grows disturbingly faint. We live in a moment where the vulnerable are often left to weather storms alone, while power gathers in hardened corners. This piece is my attempt to hold a mirror to that reality, to ask what it means when a nation forgets its promise to care for its people.
I am honored that this work will appear in Antifa Lit Journal, Volume 2, produced and published by Not a Pipe Publishing Ink-Corporated, L.L.C. The collection itself is a choir of courageous voices—poets from across America and beyond—each confronting the truths of oppression, resistance, and hope. Their words crackle with relevance, calling us to attention in a time when silence is too easily mistaken for peace.
This book is more than an anthology; it is a testament—a gathering of witness-bearers speaking into a world that too often turns away. I am humbled to stand among them.
Thank you for supporting poetry that dares to confront the present, that reaches for justice, and that refuses to forget the humanity at the heart of every struggle.
